What to do in the Fraser Valley

Summer – it’s everybody’s favourite time of year! It’s the perfect time to discover outdoor activities in British Columbia. An often overlooked gem in our backyards is the beautiful Fraser Valley district. The countryside charm, the outdoor adventures, and the voyages on the water make the Fraser Valley a perfect getaway. Whether you’re planning a solo trip, family getaway, or a friends getaway, the Fraser Valley has everything you need.

To help plan your trip to the Fraser Valley, our teams in Chilliwack, Abbotsford, and Langley put together this list of things to do in the Fraser Valley.

Cultus Lake

Less than 20 minutes away from Travelodge by Wyndham Chilliwack, Cultus Lake is not only home to BC’s largest waterpark, but the 640 acres of parks, trails, beaches, and water are sure to leave you captivated! Even if you spend 1 or 2 days taking it all in, you’ll still find more to do. The slides at the waterpark are world-renowned, and the trails lead to sites not to be missed! There’s a reason Cultus Lake is so popular!

Harrison Hot Springs

Hiking, biking, boating – Harrison Hot Springs has it all plus more! Enjoy the majestic mountains and lay on the sandy beaches and take the beauty in. And, when you’re ready for some adventure, head out for boat tours, wildlife viewing, hiking, or fishing. Abby Grind Trail

Looking for an adventurous hike? The Abby Grind is a short 10 minute drive from the Travelodge by Wyndham Abbotsford Bakerview and is perfect for moderate skill-level hikers looking for an enjoyable hike. The 3.4km hike is the perfect day activity and an excuse to sneak a little exercise in too. The total hike time is about 1.5-2 hours and is perfect for all ages – pets are also welcome as long as they are on a leash. The trail is praised for its beautiful lookout over the Fraser Valley at the top.

Golfing in Langley

Langley is home to some of BC’s finest golf courses. Belmont Golf Course, located less than 15 minutes away from Travelodge by Wyndham Langley City, is a world-class course that has hosted the Canadian Tour’s Spring Qualifying School three times. If you’re a golfer at heart, you can’t visit the Fraser Valley and not book a tee-time at Belmont. If you’re staying a couple nights, you’ll want to stay close and also book a time at Newlands Golf & Country Club. Book your next golf weekend in Langley – it’ll be one to remember!
